These and other titles were drawn by the likes of Robert Crumb, Gilbert Shelton, Kim Deitch, Robert Williams, S. Clay Wilson, Skip Williamson, Rick Griffin, Spain Rodriguez, Victor Moscoso, Jay Lynch and many others. Absolutely great stuff and much, much under-appreciated.

Editor and Publisher, a journal covering the newspaper industry, has reported that Jay Kennedy, the King Features Syndicate editor in chief who died last year, has bequeathed his collection of underground comic books to the Ohio State University Cartoon Research Library.
The collection -- which includes more than 9,500 items -- was described by King Comics Editor Brendan Burford as "tremendous" and "unparalleled." Burford worked with Kennedy at King, and helped him catalog the collection's contents.
Kennedy was an expert on underground comics who authored "The Official Underground and Newave Comix Price Guide" in 1982.
We have added two additional specials this month which we are discounting from our normal selling price. The first one is Cascade Comix Monthly # 18. We have a limited number of these which we are offering at just $4.00 each - more than half off our regular selling price! I believe this series is a much under appreciated title... if you haven't yet discovered Cascade Comix Monthly, now would be a great time to check it out.

Rebel Visions: The Underground Comix Revolution 1963 - 1975 by Patrick Rosenkranz. We are offering it at the fantastic price of just $20.00 (publisher's price - $39.95). We only have a half dozen or so copies at this price. If you don't have this book yet now would be an ideal time.
Shipping Increase/Decrease... Because of increased costs we had to raise our rates; however, we didn't think it fair to charge a higher rate for those of you ordering just one comix. For those orders, it is now actually cheaper. Effective immediately, all orders up to $9.00 will be charged a flat fee of just $3.00. All orders greater than $9.00 will be charged a flat fee of $5.00. We have held out on raising our rates as long as we could. We think we have come up with a pretty good compromise and hope you understand. (This is for USA orders only.)

We have a new category! As you can see at the top of the Navigation column, we have added the category, "Specials". Here, we will list items which we are currently offering at a discount from our normal selling price. Items may be anything - something we received at a great price and are passing on the savings to something which we have a quantity of and just want to move out.
Most "Special" items are, of course, in limited supply and may be sold out or removed at any time.
We have a couple of great items to start off with - Fogel's Underground Comix Price Guide and VelVeeda Singles and Seconds - both being offered at half off! Check 'em out here.

It has come to our attention that Michael Roden (publisher/owner of Thru Black Holes Comix) is suffering from cancer. In correspondence with Mike, he says he is going to make it but it is going to be a long road ahead. Mike has been a prolific artist and publisher of alternative and mini comix since the late 70s and is truly one of the good guys. (ed. note) We received notice that Mike passed away on June 14th, 2007. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers... The Movie
Yep! It seems like it is really going to happen this time. I have heard this rumor since the 70s but this time it looks like it is for real. It’s going to be a stop motion animation thing produced by the company, Celluloid Dreams and directed by Dave Borthwick. Fantastic news! (Did you notice who’s peeking through the door in the image shown above?)
A new issue of Mineshaft is out and in stock now. If you haven’t checked out this title yet, the latest issue, # 16, would be a good issue to try. They just keep getting better and better.

We now have most issues of Weirdo listed. Weirdo, which had a 28-issue run, was a comix magazine created by R. Crumb in the early 80s.

The new R. Crumb Handbook is in. It is a small-format, thick, hardcover book containing well over 400 pages - many in color. Lots of drawings and personal photos. Includes free CD.
