The Collected Adventures of Harold Hedd # 1 - Rand Holmes

Copyright 1972 by Rand H. Holmes. Published by Georgia Straight. 36 pages. 1st printing. $1.00 cover price. Kennedy guide # 953.

Harold Hedd was Holmes’ most well-known character who originally appeared on the pages of Vancouver’s Georgia Straight newspaper. Holmes’ work also appeared in White Lunch Comix, Fog City Comix, Hitler’s Cocaine, and others. His story lines are often compared to that of The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers by Gilbert Shelton.

This 1st printing is actually quite hard to find. It is a huge comix measuring approximately 10.75" x 14.5". As you can see from the image, it is bigger than our scanner. It is all Rand Holmes.

Although the scan of it looks pretty decent this one has been enjoyed. Lots and lots of dimples and other handling marks, worn spine with moderate tears is splint at top and bottom, cover loose at top staple, edge tears and dings, creases and folds, blunted corners. I’d call it G-
