Aline’s wild and crazy journey to the world of underground comix took her from Long Island to tumultuous Greenwich Village in the sixties, and to California, legendary land of sex, drugs, and kinky comic books. Alienated from her dysfunctional family and her environment, Aline’s eyes were opened by the youth movement of the 1960s. She gravitated to hippie San Francisco before meeting and marrying Robert Crumb. Over the years they have regularly collaborated on comics based on their real life together - the only couple in comics to have worked together in this particular way.
A well-produced blend of comics, art, photos and memorabilia from the ’60s to the present, candidly portraying the movers, shakers, and jerks of the art and music scene with searing honesty.
This is a thick, well-produced hardcover book containing nearly 400 pages. Lots of drawings, comix, & personal photographs. Most of them in color, some black & white.
